62ft 1964 Huckins Atlantic

BREAKAWAY is a classic 62-foot 1964 Huckins Atlantic with the iconic Quadraconic planing hull design developed by Frank Pembroke Huckins in 1928. This design allows the 62-foot displacement vessel to plane within seconds, combining advanced 1920s hull technology with what were precursor techniques to modern carbon fiber construction. Originally built by Huckins and recently recognized as a design precursor to the legendary PT military watercraft series.

The yacht underwent comprehensive restoration at Huckins shipyard in Jacksonville, FL between 1996-1999, including repowering with twin 600 HP Caterpillar 3176B diesel engines. In 2001, a complete galley renovation was performed at Hinckley shipyard. Continuous upgrades through 2024 include fresh AwlGrip paint (2017 and 2022), new water systems, electrical upgrades, new air conditioning, and a new Strata Glass enclosure on the helm deck.

Accommodations include three staterooms, one head with separate shower, and a full-beam Hinckley galley with 20+ square feet of Corian countertop and high-gloss cherry cabinetry. The helm deck features 360-degree vistas with the climate-controlled glass enclosure, upper and lower helm stations with modern electronics, and a bridge deck with davit system. The vessel features teak and holly sole in main areas, recessed lighting throughout, and custom stainless steel railings.
