Description
Caribbean Express is a custom-built 42-foot performance cruiser constructed in 1984 by her owner at Nordin Industries. This vessel represents thoughtful, functional boat design with meticulous craftsmanship that endures today.
The hull features a 14.5° V-shape with four lifting strakes and Klegecell foam core construction for superior planing and stability. A 4-foot stern extension optimizes propeller shaft angles. Twin 540 cubic inch Merlin engines (454hp each) with Vortec superchargers and direct port fuel injection deliver 30-knot cruising and 50-knot maximum speeds. Two sets of propellers enable both speed runs and 1,000-mile range cruising.
Interior includes custom ribbon mahogany cabinetry, queen V-berth with closet, full galley, and underfloor storage for fuel (300 gal), fresh water (50 gal), and holding tank (35 gal). 360-degree helm visibility with sliding side windows and electric heating throughout. Navigation includes Garmin GPS, VHF, depthsounder, and full instrumentation. Recently completed major refit (July 2025) with new bottom paint and replacement zincs (August 2025).
