Description
1977 Custom 80' Brigantine motorsailer, The Devil's Gauntlet, built in Pillar Point, California as an exact full-size replica of the Royal British Navy Brigantine Sultana (1768). Built with extensive collaboration from Philip & Son Shipyard (Dartmouth, England).
Hull constructed from Kevlar/Polymer composite providing superior strength and performance. Two wooden masts (Oregon White Pine), bow pulpit, wheel aft of raised companionway. Main salon features full wet bar, U-shaped settee with granite countertop. Five staterooms sleep 10-12; master suite with ensuite head. Forward V-cabin currently used as equipment storage.
Completely refit 2019-2022 as fully functional blue water motorsailer. Cummins 210HP turbo diesel engine (only 1,038 hours), TwinDisc transmission. Modern amenities include two A/C units, full washer/dryer, 300 GPD watermaker, on-demand hot water, Starlink internet, 800W solar system, 500W wind generator.
