Description
The Devil's Gauntlet is a one-of-a-kind 1977 Custom 80' Brigantine motorsailer built in Pillar Point, California. She is an exact, full-size replica of the British Royal Navy Brigantine 'Sultana' (1768), constructed with extensive technical support from Philip & Son Shipyard in Dartmouth, England.
The vessel features a Kevlar/Polymer composite hull, two wooden masts, bow pulpit, and traditional sailing rigging with new Windjammer sails. She is powered by a Cummins 210HP Turbo Diesel engine (1,038 hours) with TwinDisc Tech transmission and includes twin propellers. The hull design combines classic aesthetics with modern composites for strength, performance, and longevity.
Completely refit 2019-2022 with all systems modernized. Accommodates 14 guests across 5 staterooms with full amenities including full-size galley, two heads with bathtubs/showers, washer/dryer, and full wet bar in the main salon. Recent upgrades include new Dripless shaft seal (Sept 2025), 5000W Inverter/Charger, and tankless propane hot water heater (July 2025).
