Description
CHANTICLEER is a 108-foot classic motor yacht originally commissioned by Ogden Phipps in 1973 and christened BUCKPASSER after one of his thoroughbred racehorses. Designed by legendary naval architect Jack Hargrave, she was the largest yacht ever built by Burger Boat Company at launch and the first in their fleet to feature a helipad.
The vessel was acquired in 1986 by Frances Langford, the celebrated singer, actress, and philanthropist, who added a fishing cockpit and maintained her as a floating sanctuary for nearly two decades. Following Langford's passing in 2005, CHANTICLEER has had only discerning owners dedicated to preservation.
In 2006, the yacht underwent a comprehensive multimillion-dollar two-year complete rebuild. The current owner, who purchased her in 2023, has executed substantial refit works including fresh bottom paint, new A/C chillers, new galley dishwasher, new ice maker and refrigerator, new aft deck and flybridge Isinglass, new bimini top, complete interior overhaul, main engine full service, generator overhaul, new WOLF and Sub Zero appliances, and AV/TV upgrade.
